1. Maintaining healthy body
Diabetics probably will not experience any special symptoms even though their sugar level is above 120 before meals and above 170 after meals.
For this reason, it is important for patients to check their blood sugar level, blood pressure, cholesterol level, and triglyceride level regularly.
Patients should also have routine check ups with their eye doctor and dentist. Symptoms that patients may experience include cold, painful tingling sensation in their hands and feet during the night.
Also, small wounds on the hands and feet do not cure easily. For women, it comes so often bladder infection and fungal or yeast infection.
These are all examples of diabetes complications and must be prevented early in order for patients to have a better control over the disease.
It is also important for patients to maintain the average weight for their height. Diabetes control is much easier when patients start early, preferably immediately after they are diagnosed with the disease.
2. Good relation with the other
Food is not the only cause for the sugar level to rise; another reason is stress.
Thus, it is important for patients to maintain good relationships with their family and friends, maintain a positive attitude on life in general, and become hospitable to others.
Patients should avoid worrying themselves over trivial matters. Exercising regularly also helps to reduce stress. It is fulfilling both physically and mentally to join or form a group and participate in activities together, such as hiking, walking, or playing golf.
3. Life style change
The world is now changing faster than ever before. With the latest technology, we are now living with more convenience and luxury.
And yet, we are faced with a continual increase in diabetes patients now more than ever. Part of this reason definitely comes from the increase in stress that has come from recent advances in technology.
There is no doubt that busier schedules, longer work hours, competition between coworkers and businesses can bring much disturbance upon the body.
If you feel overworked or in danger of becoming overworked, a new life plan may be necessary. Reduce your work load and share it with a coworker. Go out as a group and participate in some hobbies together.
Try to take meals on schedule and stay away from alcoholic beverages and cigarettes. Spend time relaxing, reading a book or writing in a diary.
By reflecting on yesterday, you can make better changes on tomorrow. Soon, you will find yourself renewed and freshened once again and will become healthier, both physically and mentally.
